Little Red Riding Hood

Once upon a time, there was a little girl who lived in a village near a forest. Everyone loved her, but her grandmother loved her most of all and gave her a red hooded cloak that she wore all the time. Because of this, people called her Little Red Riding Hood.

She lived with her mother in a cottage, and they were very happy. One particular weekend, they decided to go visit her grandmother, who was feeling quite sick. She lived in another town, so they had to pack a lot of things.

Her mother was packing the last jar of jam from the top shelf when she slipped and hurt her ankle. Little Red Riding Hood came running from her bedroom when she heard the noise. Her mother was too hurt to go to Grandmother’s house, so she let Little Red Riding Hood go alone. It was a long journey, so she had to be well prepared.

Before Little Red Riding Hood left, her mother told her, “Don’t talk to anyone while you’re walking there.” She tried to remember what her mother said, but when she stepped out of the house, it was as if that thought had never existed.

She was walking through the forest when an unfamiliar voice called her name. She turned around and saw a wolf. She didn’t realize it was a wolf, since he was dressed as a farmer, and the disguise worked very well. He asked her where she was going, and because she had forgotten her mother’s warning, she told him she was going to visit her grandmother on the other side of the forest.

The wolf was very evil, so he decided to lead her along a longer route. He told her that if she went around the forest, she would reach her grandmother’s house faster. She believed him and followed his directions.

When Little Red Riding Hood was nowhere in sight, the wolf sprinted to her grandmother’s house and knocked on the door. He heard a voice from inside, followed by the sound of the door unlocking. As soon as the grandmother opened the door, he jumped—and ate her! The wolf put on her clothes and climbed into her bed. He was too big for it; his feet didn’t even fit.

Not long after, he heard knocking at the door. He let Little Red Riding Hood in, and she sat down beside the bed. She noticed that her “grandmother” looked a little different, so she said, “Your ears seem bigger.”

The wolf replied, “That’s because you haven’t seen me in a long time.”

Then she asked, “Your eyes seem different.”

He answered, “That’s because I’m not wearing my glasses.”

Next she asked, “Why does your nose seem different?”

The wolf was losing his patience, but he replied, “Because I have allergies.”

Finally, she asked, “Why does your mouth seem different?”

At that point, the wolf lost his patience completely. He jumped out of bed and started chasing her. Little Red Riding Hood was very fast and managed to escape for a while.

Luckily, two lumberjacks were nearby. They captured the wolf and cut open his belly, freeing the grandmother. Later, she invited everyone over for tea, and they all lived happily ever after.
